One advantage of Online Unit Studies is that many projects are cloud-based and you don't need a lot of supplemental resources. Here is a list of materials and tools you will want to prepare before officially starting this Online Unit Study with your kids.

Epic! or Hoopla

For this Online Unit Study, students will have the option to read recommended eBooks to enhance their study. I recommend the following options:

Epic! is our favorite resource for online eBooks and videos for our kids, but you will need a paid subscription to access most of the (optional) books in this unit study. There is a free version (Epic! basic), where kids can read one free eBook a day from a limited selection of titles.

Hoopla is a free streaming service that lets you borrow eBooks, audiobooks, comics, music, movies & TV for FREE with your library card. The recommended books in this study are available for free on Hoopla.

Photo Collage (Canva)

Your kiddos will be creating a photo collage. You can use any photo collage creation app, but I recommend Canva. You can register for an account here. If you have younger kids, you might want to take a look at these tutorials so you have some understanding of how Canva works.
