Project Supply List

One advantage of Online Unit Studies is that many projects are cloud-based and you don't need a lot of supplemental resources. Here is a list of materials and tools you will want to prepare before officially starting this Online Unit Study with your kids.

Note: This list may include affiliate links. Thank you for supporting Techie Homeschool Mom at no cost to you.

Shark Infographic with Infrogram

Your kiddos will be making an infographic with Infogram. You will need to register for an account HERE. If you have younger kids, you might want to take a look at the tutorials before they begin.

Epic!

Epic! is a kids' e-book library, and although it isn't necessary for this unit study, your kids might enjoy reading some more books about sharks from there. Create a new account at Epic! HERE. You can utilize their limited basic account for free (but if you're a techie homeschool family, you will probably fall in love with it and sign up for a monthly plan!)

Grammarly

I recommend Grammarly for a word processing program for drafting text for the project. Sign up HERE.

Google Sheets

Your kids will be collecting data on sharks and recording this information in Google Sheets. Help them get a Google account set up ahead of time if they don't already have one.

Baking Activity

There is a fun recipe in one of the modules. If you like to plan ahead, here are the ingredients you'll need to have on hand:

  • 1 box white cake mix, plus ingredients called for on box
  • Blue food coloring
  • 1 1/2 c. white chocolate chips, melted
  • Black food coloring
  • 1 strawberry fruit roll-up
  • 3 mini powdered sugar donuts
  • 2 c. marshmallow Fluff
  • 1 tbsp. water
  • 3 c. whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
