Project Supplies
One advantage of Online Unit Studies is that many projects are cloud-based and you don't need a lot of supplemental resources. Here is a list of materials and tools you will want to prepare before officially starting this Online Unit Study with your kids.

Make A Cartouche
Supplies Needed:
- Cartouche outline with your name written
- Heavy duty aluminum foil
- Black sharpie marker
- Ballpoint pen
- Wooden skewer or wooden stick with flat end and pointed end
- Napkin or paper towel
Tiger Nut Sweets
Supplies Needed
- Pitted dates
- Water
- Cinnamon
- Chopped pecans
- Honey
- Almond meal, or finely ground almonds
Shaduf
There are no set supplies for this project. To encourage problem solving and critical thinking, Studiers are encouraged to collect things around their home for the project.
Mummify a Doll
Supplies needed:
- Plastic dolls...we recommend Barbie/GI Joe-ish dolls from the thrift store
- Red Sharpie
- Vinegar
- Oil
- Spices
- Salt
- Muslin
- Flour
- Clay or craft foam
Digital Tools
This Ancient Egypt Study emphasizes
Canva, a photo editing and graphic design tool. You will need to create an account at Canva.com.
Your child will learn to use Canva throughout the study, but, depending on their technological skill level, may look to you for help. We encourage you to take some time and familiarize yourself with Canva beforehand. Click here to access Canva's Design School for tutorials.
